Chef Debora Christ
Executive Chef
Born in Uruguay, she grew up surrounded by a blend of European roots, from France and Spain, shaping both her life and passion for gastronomy. — A rich cultural background that inspired her love of cooking from a very young age.
She studied International Culinary Arts in Montevideo, Uruguay, and emigrated to Washington, DC, 24 years ago in search of new opportunities. From that moment on, she began a journey of hard work, learning, and dedication that soon became a true passion for the culinary world.
She moved to Hawaii, where she pursued more studies and continued developing her skills as a cook, baker, pastry chef, and international chef.
Seven years ago, she returned to Washington, DC, where she worked as a chef at Del Sur Café until its closure in December 2023 due to the impact of the pandemic. Just days later, on December 12th, she began a new chapter in her career at La Chaumière as a Sous Chef, under the tutelage of the restaurant original Chef, Patrick Orange, continuing with the same passion and commitment that have guided her throughout her professional journey.
We are blessed and thrilled to have Debora as the executive Chef of this great institution.
"For me, cooking is not just a profession — it is history, culture, discipline, and love expressed in every dish." - Debora Christ
